NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver Certification
There are 3 sections to the NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver Certification Program.
Passing all of them is required to receive your NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver Certification.
1. Academic
As with any certification program for Scuba there is some basic knowledge one needs to acquire, and we try to make it as easy as possible to accommodate your needs. To do this, we use the NAUI Education System (NES), which are an easy and comprehensive way to learn. This award-winning NAUI system easily exceeds all other training programs on the market. Our overall training program is different than any other dive centers programs as we include the Nitrox Diver course at no additional charge. Normally the Nitrox Diver course is a $200 course when purchased separately. To aid you in your academic training and how you may personally learn, we offer the academic program in 2 different formats, as we do for all the academic portions of our courses.
The NAUI Digital Premier NES option is a $50 upgrade and highly recommended as it enhances your learning experience.
*Please note, certification is not guaranteed by purchase and requires completion of additional training including in-water sessions with a NAUI Instructor. Digital certification will be emailed directly to the student upon successful completion of all course requirements.
2. Confined Water Training.
This is both the most fun and most important part of your training program. You will start with a 2-3-hour orientation and fitting at our store, where you will be fitted with the appropriate sized equipment for use in the pool. You will also have a chance to be fitted for and purchase your personal snorkeling equipment that you will need for the course. In the confined water training portion of the course you will complete approximately 12 hours of in water training over 6 sessions, which are about 2 hours long per session, in a pool or pool like environment. Here you will learn to handle and use the Scuba equipment properly and safely, as well as the skills needed to safely enjoy your time underwater Confined Water Training is either held 1x or 2x per week and participants are required to attend all confined water sessions. Please call to see what schedule will best fit your needs or email us what days are best for you and we will put together an appropriate schedule for your training.
*Please also note that a Medical Statement signed by your Physician is required before the start of the confined portion of the course and will be given out when purchasing the academic portion of the course or upon request to make sure that you are medically fit to participate in the course
